The Washakie County Treasurer's Office employs two people in addition to the Treasurer. Our office is the collector of taxes: property taxes, motor vehicle fees, and sales tax on vehicle purchases. The Treasurer's office is also responsible for receiving and properly disbursing all other county monies received. We are here to make paying your taxes and fees as easy and painless as possible.
Property taxes are mailed out in late September and are due, if paying by halves, by November 10th of that year. The second half would be due by May 10th of the following year. You also have the option of paying the full amount by December 31st of that year and not paying any penalty.
When purchasing a new home or refinancing your old one, it is always wise to make sure the taxes are current.
